one cool word’s readers live in Metro Vancouver. They are male, female, gay, straight, politically active or dormant, and of all ethnicities. Most of our readers are young adults, but our post-secondary readership is high and our secondary school readership is growing. These vibrant folks go to shows, buy and trade art, argue about cutting-edge culture, and crave innovative and eccentric creations of all kinds, in all media. Many of them are creators themselves, and all of them get a rush from immersing themselves in raw expression. Recent improvements to our website, including copies for sale online, are earning us out-of-country and out-of-province fans.

The Magazine

one cool word magazine is 32 pages long and measures 8” x 10.5”. Each issue comes with a full length compilation CD. All content is by Metro Vancouverites.

Three-hundred copies of one cool word magazine are published quarterly. Approximately 3 people read each magazine sold. We are 100% Vancouver owned and operated, and are independent, not-for-profit, and volunteer-run.

ocw is sold in artistic hot spots around Vancouver. From Main Street to The Drive, from Kitsilano to downtown, we handpick our retailers, bookstores, magazine galleries, record stores, and unclassifiable shops frequented by current and potential readers. These retailers include Chapters, Zulu Records, Duthie Books, Red Cat Records, and Does Your Mother Know? We can be found at www.onecoolword.com and at the Vancouver Public LIbrary. As well, we hold a release party for each new issue and include a magazine with the price of admission, and we hand-sell copies at literary, art, and music events that we host or attend.

Specifications

All ads are black-and-white, located and limited to the inside of the back page. All sizes are indicated in inches. All prices are in Canadian dollars. Modifications to size and orientation are possible only within the limitations of our existing layout.

Rate Revisions

The publisher reserves the right to make revisions at any time. Existing contract rates are guaranteed for the next three issues.
