ocw's very first issue established the magazine as a true art & literary magazine with the added bonus of a CD compilation! The catchy paint-splattered cover caught many eyes, and the magazine sold well in stores despite it's brand-new status. The magazine's launch party (featuring Winston, Parlour Steps, Shukov, and The Februarys) also overcame expectations and turned out a large crowd of curious Vancouverites.

Highlights: painting, photography, digital media, poetry, non-fiction, stageplay, sculpture, spoken word, and a variety of music genres.
