I am the
Tracy Ann Stefanucci is co-founder and editor-in-chief of OCW Magazine. She is a regular contributor to Diverse Magazine, marketing coordinator for musica intima, and has worked as deputy editor and editor-in-chief of LOVE. Magazine.
She has a BA in creative writing and Spanish and a BEd, both from the University of British Columbia, and plans to do her Master of Publishing at SFU in September, 2010.
For her varied volunteer and almost-volunteer work in the magazine industry, Tracy received the 2010 Volunteer of the Year Award from the British Columbia Association of Magazine Publishers. She has also received awards for her writing from Ripple Effect Press (2002 & 2003), as well as a scholarship for her publishing work from Josten’s (2003). She was also nominated for a Bachelor of Education excellence award at UBC (2009).
Her work with OCW Magazine has seen the publication receive awards and acknowledgment from Pandora Collective (2010), the Georgia Straight’s Best of Vancouver issue (2009), and the Word on the Street Book and Magazine Festival (2006 & 2008).
Her work has been published in Diverse Magazine, LOVE. Magazine, Discorder, Geist (a collaborative piece), Bleach magazine, one cool word magazine, BCTELA Student Writing Journal, Wordscapes: British Columbia Youth Writing Anthology, and Youthink magazine. Her stageplay entitled “Have a Nice Gay” was performed in the 2006 Brave New Play Rites Festival.
She has also worked as a junior editor at Self-Counsel Press and as a reporter and photographer, then as a mentor, at Youthink magazine. She also taught poetry in a grade 6/7 class at Pitt River Community Middle School, during which time she self-published a class anthology and facilitated all 28 students entry into a national poetry contest, 12 of which were shortlisted for the prize.
